Give Cairo two full touring days, keep one buffer evening, then fly south. If you add Alexandria, do it as a day trip from Cairo rather than a second hotel move.
Start in Cairo, not on the Nile
The pyramids, a museum morning, and one Islamic Cairo walk are enough for the first stay. Do not stack Saqqara, Dahshur, and Giza on the same clock unless you like a blur.
- Two hotel nights in Cairo or Giza before you fly south
- One unhurried Giza morning with a licensed Egyptologist
- A buffer evening for the Citadel or Khan el-Khalili, not another plateau
When a short Nile sailing helps
A three- or four-night Luxor–Aswan cabin works when you want temples without changing hotels every dusk. We confirm the boat after we know your embarkation date.
- Fly to Luxor after the Cairo days
- Sail with temple stops already in the outline
- Disembark in Aswan, then choose Abu Simbel or a Red Sea finish
A simple first-week shape
| Days | Where | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1–3 | Cairo / Giza | Pyramids, museum, one city walk |
| 4–7 | Nile sailing | Luxor and Aswan without packing every night |
| 8 | Aswan or coast | Abu Simbel, or a quieter water day |
Send the inquiry form with your dates. There is no online checkout; the Downtown Cairo office writes the outline back to you.
